September Reunion Planned
Decendants of Isaac Newton Sell, 1840-1905, will be hosting their Sell reunion on Sunday September 16th, 2001 at the Camelot Senior Center in Clinton, Missouri. Particulars can be obtained from Pamela Warren, 305 North Adams, Brunswick, Missouri 65236
(pamla@c-magic.com).
Isaac Newton Sell was born 12 June 1840 in Ohio, probably in Carroll County, son of Benjamin Sell(s), 1815-1888, and Alice Henley; grandson of Anthony Sells III, and Catherine Kail. (Isaac > Benjamin > Anthony > Anthony > Anthony > Hendrick Sellen)
About 1863 Isaac Sell(s) married to Emaline McQueen, 1844-1881. Their first two sons, Ulysses and John, were born in Ohio in 1864 and 1868. Then the family moved to Benton County, Missouri, where two daughters, Rebecca and Mary, were born about 1873 and 1874.
This family is recorded on the 1880 Census in White twp., Benton County, Missouri, page 299B, as follows: "Isaac N. Sell, age 39, born Ohio, farmer, both parents born Ohio; wife Emaline, age 36, born Ohio, father born Virginia, mother born Ohio; son Ulisses G. Sell, age 16, born Ohio, works on farm; son John W. Sell, age 12, born Ohio, works on farm; daughter Rebecca A. Sell, age 7, born Missouri; and daughter Mary J. Sell, age 4, born Missouri."
Pam tells us that her parents still own the original homestead that Isaac settled in Benton County, Missouri in the 1870's. We will be looking forward to hearing more about this reunion in September.
